الكوكب الدري

أكسر الكبرياء لك ومكسور شعري
بعالم الفناء ما غيرك يا رب يدوم

كان لي ذنوب يا رحيم فذا ظهري
أفنني كفارات أو اغفر يا رحوم

أسألك جناح يسليني الباقي بعمري
أسلى وأسلي القمم وحواليها أحوم

خذني للصفاء وزجاجة الكوكب الدري
وأملني بنورك وتفضل وأنثرني نجوم

The Radiant Planet

I break my pride for You, my poetry broken too
In this world of passing things, none but You, my Lord, endures.

I have borne my sins, O Merciful—here is my back
Let atonements wear me away, or forgive me, O Most Merciful

I ask You for a wing to console what remains of my years
That I may find solace, console the peaks, and soar around them

Take me to serenity, to the glass of the Radiant Planet
Fill me with Your light, bestow Your grace, and scatter me as stars
